Fully outfitted with all the amenities of an in-house magnetic resonance suite, a mobile Philips MRI rental from Medical Imaging Resources Inc. is maintained to meet or exceed manufacturer’s specifications. All of our units have bright and attractive interiors, equipped with medical grade materials. Because we own the equipment, we take pride in every rental or lease and give the client the personal attention that they deserve. Cover your temporary needs with a quality mobile Philips MRI rental from us.
Mobile Magnetic Resonance Imaging – MRI or MR
The Basics:
Our mobile Philips MRI consists of the use of very powerful magnets arranged
in a ring configuration. A person, placed inside this ring is subjected
to this intense, but harmless magnetic field.
Every cell of the human body carries some portion of hydrogen protons.
The relative concentration of these protons varies based upon the type
and composition of a particular tissue within the body. These protons
carry a minute magnetic field and a directional spin characteristic.
Ordinarily, these Hydrogen Protons spin in random ways. Subject them to
a strong magnetic field, and they will align in a coherent way.
In our mobile Philips mri a radio wave, tuned to the frequency of the
aligned Hydrogen Protons, is pulsed, reflected, and read by a radio receiver.
This information is translated into an image of the area scanned.
Gradients of tissue density, clear images of damaged tissue, tumors, and
the even functionality of various organs can be discerned. All of this
is achieved with no damage to tissue or discomfort to the patient.
This technology was first used on a patient in a clinical setting July
3, 1977. It took hours to conduct the scan and the first images were difficult
to read - however they represented a coming new order of noninvasive medicine.
Advances in targeting specific tissues and the increasing processing power
of the associated computer technology has made the MRI procedure ever
more efficient and comprehensive.
The magnet strength of an MRI unit, in one our mobile Philips MRI, is
proportional to how effective it is. Magnetic strength is gaged by large
a unit of measure called a tesla. Smaller increments of magnetic power
are called gauss. Simply put, 10,000 gauss equals one tesla. At present,
MRI units used in most clinics and our mobile Philips MRI range from .5
tesla to 3 tesla units of strength. At these levels, all metallic objects
of a ferrous or magnetic quality must be kept from the imaging equipment.
The intrusion of even a small metallic object impelled by the attractive
force of such equipment could prove to be a fatal projectile for either
the patient or technician. You can ask us more about a mobile Philips
